Everything you want to know before you get your coconut on
How is your coconut oil different from others?
Our coconut oil is cold-centrifuged which makes it very different from your kitchen coconut oil. Coconut oil works wonders in so many ways, but we paid attention to how it’s processed to give your skin the best kind with the most essential vitamins, nutrients and fatty acids. Cold-centrifuged technology goes beyond the cold-pressed method because no heat is used from start to finish. Our coconut oil also goes from tree to oil in 48 hours, giving high-grade and spa-worthy coconut oil for your skin.
My coconut balm is solid. Help!
During the cold winter months, are coconut balms are more solid. We recommend using the applicator with your desired amount and rubbing your balm between your fingers to warm it up before applying to your skin.
My coconut balm feels too soft. Help!
During the hot summer months, if your coconut balm has been exposed to direct sunlight for some time, it will start to liquify. We recommend placing it in the fridge for about 10 minutes to quickly solidify to maintain the creamy balm texture! We definitely suggest storing your coconut balm in a place away from direct sunlight.
My coconut balm feels grainy. Help!
If your balm was exposed to extreme changes of temperature (for example direct sunlight) and if it took some time to solidify again, a grainy texture may occur because all the oils were solidifying at different rates. We definitely suggest placing your balm in the fridge to combat this. This is natural and does not affect the power of the balm in any way. We don’t believe in using silicones, in this case it is called dimethicone: a chemical that smooths out the texture. Why? Because it stops your skin from accessing the hydration from natural oils (coconut oil & mango butter) to be absorbed into your skin and stops your skin from breathing which can lead to clogged pores. What we do in this case is rub the balm in between our fingers for a few more seconds before we slather it on, and it’s as good as new.
What is the shelf life of your products?
We use no preservatives and because we are oil based (not water based) we have a shelf life of approximately 12 months. All products are hand poured within one month of orders, giving you a whole new level of fresh skincare.
Where are your products made?
All of our products are handmade in Los Angeles, hand poured in small batches to maintain the highest quality for you.
How is your coconut oil sustainably sourced?
Like you, we believe in purchasing with a purpose which is why we source our coconut oil from a community fairtrade farm in the Philippines. Fairtrade certification ensures that workers receive fair wages and a fair, safe and healthy working environment.
Are your products cruelty free?
Absolutely! We only test in-house.
Are your products vegan/gluten free?
Our organic virgin coconut oil and milk baths are vegan and gluten free.
Do your products contain fragrance?
Absolutely not, fragrance is the F word for us! We use 100% USDA certified organic essential oils for our aromas. Fragrances are the #1 chemicals in skincare today so we love that you’re taking extra care in your advocacy for clean skincare!
Where is your full ingredient list?
We believe in simple, yet 100% effective ingredients. All of our ingredients are listed in the product descriptions online and on our packaging. There are no “full ingredient lists” that usually contain all that nasty and complicated stuff. We believe it’s important to understand all the ingredients in your skincare routine so you’re in control.
Where do you source you other ingredients from?
Our organic mango butter is sourced from India and our beeswax is sourced from family farms in the US. Our organic essential oils are sourced in the US and are USDA certified. If you would like more information on this feel free to contact us at email@example.com - we believe in full transparency, no secrets.
Are you really silicone, sulphates, parabens, phthalates free?
Loud and proud! Our coconut balms are oil-based (not water based) which allows us to have no preservatives. Our products have a shelf life of approximaltey 12 months. We let mother nature work its magic, no more artificial hydration when you’re powered with coconut oil.
I have oily/acne-prone skin. Can I use coconut oil on my face and body?
We know it seems counterintuitive but adding coconut oil into your skincare routine can actually help balance your skin. A lot of acne-solutions use harsh drying methods that dehydrate the skin which causes your skin to increase its sebum production, making it more oily. When your skin is dehydrated too, dirt and impurities get stuck in our pores. Please check with your dermatologist if need be. We also recommend testing our coconut balms on a small area and if your skin is sensitive to products it helps to start with a small amount to introduce your skin to coconut hydration.
I have a personal question and I want to talk to a person about it.
