Our beeswax is purchased from Milea Bee Farm, a filipino family business that harvest the indigenous Apis Cerana bees, also known as the Asiatic Honey Bee. They spend more time with the same plants, having a higher floral fidelity than the Apis Mellifera, the Western Honey Bee. At Milea Bee Farm beeswax is kept to its most natural state as possible: unbleached, unfiltered and no preservatives are used.

Coconut oil is the jack-of-all fruits - we drink it, eat it and cook with it. The use of coconut oil dates back to many ancient beauty rituals, from the Egyptians to the Filipinos. It's the secret to having youthful and glowing skin. Coconut oil is the answer to most health and beauty issues as my mum would say, but not all coconut oil is created equally. That's why we went for the best type: organic virgin coconut oil, and we paid attention to how it's processed: centrifuged, really giving you the best coconut oil for your lips. Our coconut oil is purchased from a cooperative in Davao, Philippines that is USDA organic certified. The coconut farm is a 100% single area harvest located on the shoreline of the island. The coconuts are always handpicked, are non-hydrogenated, non-bleached and non-refined.
why go nuts for coconuts?
- Gives us moisture - because of the saturated fats, when applied to the skin it retains the moisture content
- Keeps our lips smooth because it has the ability to penetrate deep into the skin from the triglycerides
- Gives us rejuvenation from the Vitamin E in the oil which promotes collagen formation, reducing the appearance of wrinkles
- Protects us from infections because it contains antimicrobial properties from the fatty acids, mainly the lauric acid. It also acts as a physical barrier to dust and other environmental pollutants.
"centrifuged, organic & virgin" in a nutshell
- Organic - coconut tree is grown on organic manure, with no synthetic fertilisers
- Virgin - comes from fresh coconut meat (not dried coconuts) and is unrefined
- Centrifuged - cold-pressed method, no heat is used in extraction. Also extraction takes place no less than 48 hours after handpicking the coconuts. This process extracts coconut oil to its purest form, giving us the freshest coconut taste and smell.
